What happens when you put my grandmother, mother, mother-in-law, 2 sisters & me in a dress shop?
The best girls date ever.
When it came time to hunt for my wedding dress, I realized that this would be a special occasion not just for me but also for my mother, my grandmothers, my aunt, younger sisters, and soon to be mother-in-law! As the oldest grandchild, this was a 1st for the matriarchs of our family. My mother-in-law also has 2 boys, so it was really important to me to share this moment with her too... I mean, when else would we have this opportunity!?
The objective was simple: HELP ME FIND A DRESS!
Thankfully, we're a pretty close-knit unit. So, everyone working together was very easy! There can be a LOT of cooks in the kitchen when it comes to wedding dress shopping with a group, however. So, I set just a few ground rules for the day:
- Everybody gets to pick 1 dress for me to try.
- Moms and grandmother get 2 options if they can't choose.
- I won't see the dresses until I try them each on for everyone.
- We'll try to guess who picked each dress as I come out!
I highly recommend including your close family on events like this. Not only was it important to my mom to have this moment, but my little sisters had never been wedding dress shopping before either! We got to see what styles they each liked for me (AND THEM!), and we also got to enjoy some much-needed girl time.
While I ended up finding my perfect dress in Dallas, I'm still so thankful that I made the trip to Tulsa to shop with my family. The team at David's Bridal was absolutely amazing, and we had such a great time bonding and shopping!
Thank you to the staff of David's Bridal Tulsa for making us feel so special on this beautiful Girls Date. I fell in love with so many dresses and wish I could have worn them all!
And a special Thank You to James Parker Photography for capturing these one-of-a-kind memories!
