When we first discovered that Prospect House was located in Dripping Springs, TX, we prepared ourselves for trek into the wilderness. Little did we know that the distance would be well-worth it, as this hidden gem is tucked away from the big city traffic & perfectly placed like a natural oasis all on its own. Located right outside of the capital city of Austin, TX, this naturally-lit, airy warehouse stands alone as the modern monochromatic destination for an amazing wedding and reception to make any guest ready for a selfie. With sliding doors to greet you, the light pours in as if intentionally designed for the best photos imaginable. We learned about this place the way that most millenials discover things - on Instagram, as it came highly recommended for the minimalist style that we are considering for our special day… and it did not disappoint.
What several local photographers consider to be “natural light goals”, the setting at Prospect House is a blank canvas that can produce just about any style wedding or reception without a hitch. This is especially appealing, considering its affordable price point, but more on that later. Of course, stunning photos are one of my top priorities as a soon-to-be-bride. So, seeing the way that a venue photographs is very important in the planning process. Thankfully, Kathryn and Erich Oswald, the owners of Prospect House were well-prepared with romantic & wistful albums for us to browse through before our visit. Check out some of those here.
It’s no surprise that Prospect House has won an Honor Award for Built Design from the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). This well-deserved congratulations goes to designer Max Levy, the architect who is making wedding dreams come true. With sleek lines and vaulted white ceilings, the interior reflective surfaces act as natural light boosters, while the exterior building frames the wistful walk down the aisle to an even more unique backdrop. A simple & strong ivory square frame and stone stage await the modern bride in the backyard of Prospect House, appearing almost like an empty polaroid waiting to be filled with memories. Whether styled with winding greenery, brilliants florals, or bare bones on its own, this stage is naturally, beautifully set for any couple to add their own own flare & make it their own.
This modern & minimalistic venue comes with space for a cocktail hour, outdoor OR indoor ceremony, and a chic reception to hold up to 220 guests. It is clear that this space was designed specifically for weddings, receptions, and special events, as it stands symmetrically-framed by its beautiful hill country landscape.
So it looks great, girl… but what about the cost? What about the perks? Not to worry! I did all the research for you, so take a look at my #WorldBrideInsider notes below:
